Welcome to St. Laurent Assisted Living Centre’s website. We are a not-for-profit, community based organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The community of St. Laurent has a long and rich Métis heritage, appreciated by both Métis and non-Métis residents. It has been recognized that all elders do best when they can stay in their home community, surrounded by family yet receive 24/7 home-care.

The St. Laurent Assisted Living Centre (ALC) provides living arrangements, which include all meals, snacks, suites, and laundry. The Interlake Regional Health Authority (IRHA) provides the 24/7 home-care workers. Families provide personal care products, clothing and medicines. Social interaction is encouraged between residents and community members and activities are provided. The ALC provides some of the social functions required (for instance: a young local person was hired in the Summer of 2008 to work with the elderly). Families are encouraged to take an active part in the continuing well being of their loved ones.
There is presently a waiting list of potential residents. We are therefore working on an expansion to 12 permanent residents, plus 1 respite suite. |
